Thermite. Officials would rather keep innocent people imprisoned until they die, untried, rather than to admit to the embarrassment of having illegally.

One would think that such aberrant leaders would be held to task by an outraged public and by their political replacements. Instead, the American people get more of the same. Guantanamo will not close anytime soon, and contrary to Mr. Obama’s statements, the outrages there have not ceased, but have become worse.

Officials would rather keep innocent people imprisoned until they die, untried, rather than to admit to the embarrassment of having illegally imprisoned and tortured mostly innocent people. Bagram continues to be a hell-on-earth. We don’t know how many others even exist. Children as young as eight remain imprisoned.

Sasha. Pavlovic helps Cavaliers tie series

Pavlovic, a starter on Cleveland’s team that reached the NBA finals two years ago, was on the floor at the end of the game. He fouled Hedo Turkoglu with 13.8 seconds left to set up the Magic’s last shot. Turkoglu hit a shot in the lane over Pavlovic with one second left to put Orlando ahead 95-93. “He’s a great shooter,” Pavlovic said. “He hit a tough shot.” Brown thought Pavlovic’s height would help defend Orlando’s shooters.

“We wanted to try and give them a different look by going with a little more length and athleticism in Sasha,” Brown said. “Going into the game today was when I made the decision to go with him. I kept jumping back and forth. Finally on my drive in.

Gallery. Blaze guts huge furniture warehouse in Houston; no injuries reported but damage in millions

HOUSTON – A huge fire lit up the night sky in Houston as it destroyed a massive furniture warehouse. No injuries were reported but the damage was estimated at millions of dollars. The Thursday night fire at the Gallery Furniture warehouse delayed traffic on nearby Interstate 45.

Owner Jim McIngvale – also known as “Mattress Mac” – said the fire began in a corner of the warehouse, but its cause is not yet known. Houston Fire District Chief Tommy Dowdy says they have not confirmed a report from an employee that the fire started around a generator. More than 100 people were in an adjacent showroom when the fire broke out but they escaped safely. McIngvale vows to rebuild the business.

Katy. The unexpected rise of ‘American Idol’ winner Kris Allen had truly humble beginnings

“You know, there’s probably people who are better than me,” was his response, a humility that Simon Cowell said he found off-putting. “Idol” producers must have agreed. Back in February, viewers had seen less of Allen out of all the crooners that moved forward in the competition. During Hollywood Week, neither of Allen’s solos were aired, just his “I Want You Back” group performance. In fact, more footage from his original audition was aired during Wednesday’s eighth season finale than in any previous episodes.

Once selected as a finalist, Allen got off to a rocky start after his first performance. The judges were decidedly mixed over his rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror,” yet his charming nice-guy demeanor quickly emerged when it was revealed that the longtime Jackson fan had been helping the other singers – his competitors of all people! – tackle their takes on the King of Pop. Allen himself seemed the most surprised about his shocking win by a margin of votes that, unlike last season’s landslide victory by David Cook over David Archuleta, was not publicly declared by host Ryan Seacrest.

Moon Poster. What is certain, though, the aforementioned “Twilight”-oriented e-zine says, is that a clip from the upcoming film will be shown for the first time.

“Twilight” fans would better check their local listings, set their watches and wait patiently until May 31, as sources reveal that never-before-seen footage from “New Moon,” the most anticipated film of the year of the genre, will air during the MTV Movie Awards. Not only that, but Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will also be taking the stage, informs. As of now, it is not yet certain whether the famous trio would attend the ceremonies to present the award or to introduce the clip, as reports in the media are still contradictory in this sense. What is certain, though, the aforementioned “Twilight”-oriented e-zine says, is that a clip from the upcoming film will be shown for the first time.

Moreover, it is being added, while it may not last more than a minute, it will be so action-packed that fans will certainly be pleasantly surprised. “I can exclusively reveal that footage from the Twilight sequel will be shown for the first time during the upcoming MTV Movie Awards. And that’s not all – it gets better…; Awards show producer Mark Burnett says [Robert Pattinson], Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will hit the stage together to present the clip. An action-packed, minute-long clip from Twilight showing Edward battling badboy bloodsucker James (Cam Gigandet) made its debut at last year’s awards.
