Bryce Dallas Howard To Play Victoria In “Eclipse”

It is reported that Victoria’s character in “Twilight” is going to be essayed by Bryce Dallas Howard henceforth. In the previous flicks, it had been Rachelle Lefevre, who had played the character of the fierce vampire. However, now, talks have surfaced that Rachelle is going to be replaced by the very cute looking Bryce. Rachelle Lefevre is supposedly stepping aside because of a conflict of dates involved in the filming of the third movie, which is supposed to go on the floors in August.

The 30 year old Canadian actress has prior commitments to her other venture “Barney’s Vision” at that time which is causing the clash in filming schedule. In the first Twilight movie as well as the upcoming “New Moon”, viewers are going to witness Rachelle as Victoria. Bryce will step in to her shoes in the third installment, “Eclipse.

Cash Clunkers. It’s a great deal for the dealer who’s getting the additional business and it’s a good stimulus package for everybody,” said general manager Ryan Jupiter.

Those who give up their clunker would receive a minimum of $3,500 taken off the sale price of a new car. Ben Smith runs Best Auto Parts, a giant used car and parts center in Lynnwood that would receive clunkers sold to dealers. His company would then recycle the used parts and destroy the engines. “I think it’s gonna be a great benefit to all recyclers in the state of Washington,” Smith said.

But earlier Friday he was faxed the details by the federal government saying that they’ve delayed the program for a few days, so that the complex regulations can be studied. Car owners said it seems a good use of taxpayer stimulus money. “It’s a good idea for the economy, for everyone,” said car owner Kim, she did not disclose her last name. The General Manager of Toyota of Seattle said he’s already got 20 deals pending in the “Cash for Clunkers” program and expects many more to follow. “It’s a great deal for the consumer.

After spending an impressive second half of last season with AC Milan, Beckham returned to the Galaxy in Thursday’s 3-.

David Beckham received a cool reception from disgruntled Galaxy fans in his return to Los Angeles as his Major League Soccer club played to a 2-2 draw with his recent Italian club AC Milan. The English star, who missed the first half of the MLS season while on loan to AC Milan, was booed during introductions and again on his first several touches of the ball. Leaving the pitch at halftime he approached a section of stands where anti-Beckham banners were displayed and appeared to shout something.

A fan jumped down and was restrained by security personnel and escorted off the pitch. “One of the guys was saying things that wasn’t very nice. It was stepping over the line,” Beckham said. “I said, ‘You need to calm down and come shake my hand,’ and he jumped over.” But Beckham insisted the fan reaction didn’t bother him. “It doesn’t affect me,” he said. “You can’t be liked by everyone.

Jaggery. Amraiwadi residents raid liquor den, seize 7 litres of hooch

AHMEDABAD: Residents had to turn into moral police since men in khaki were not doing enough. At Bawa vaas in Khokhra on Friday morning, a group of angry residents finally decided to act after witnessing the death of three persons due to hooch. Women, with the help of some social workers, raided a liquor den and seized seven litres of country liquor. Angry denizens then broke open a godown of the same bootlegger and there they found a pot full of jaggery.

According to eyewitnesses, they found residents of the locality – Narayan Tegde and Arjun Shinde – unconscious. They were later rushed to LG Hospital where both men were declared dead. After news of their demise reached residents, they raided a nearby den frequented by residents of the area. Shailesh Shinde, a social worker from the area, said that the liquor den had been proving to be a menace for a long time and they were up in arms when they saw police doing nothing in the case. “We found several polythene bags containing seven litres of liquor.

Danny Ferry. Shaq: All for the king

Acquired last week in a blockbuster trade with the , O’Neal was welcomed by a team that believes he can bring this title-thirsty region its first major pro sports crown in 45 years. Flanked by Cavaliers general manager and coach , O’Neal held court for nearly 30 minutes as only Shaq can. In front of an audience that included Cavs owner Dan Gilbert, media members, season-ticket holders, corporate partners and kids from a summer camp, O’Neal gave Cleveland fans their first glimpse of what’s in store next year – and maybe beyond. Joined by his wife, Shaunie, O’Neal was calm, comedic and oozing – as always – with confidence.

Clutching the microphone and delivering his answers in his unmistakable, bottomless baritone, O’Neal addressed topics ranging from a possible contract extension in Cleveland to James’ future to his page to a budding rivalry with center. O’Neal, 37, has one season at $21 million left on a five-year, $100 million contract. However, early in his remarks he said, “I’ve got three years left in my career,” perhaps an initial attempt to persuade the Cavaliers to extend his deal past 2010. Cleveland, which hasn’t celebrated a championship since the Browns won the title in 1964, is the first cold-weather NBA city O’Neal has played in after stops in Orlando, Los Angeles, Miami and Phoenix.

Toni Basil. That song was about me.” Many songs with names in the title, of course, are not about anyone, like Velvet Underground’s Sweet Jane, which concerns the surreal life of a rock star.

Some artists slip so many names into their songs that it’s hard to keep track. The Beatles are fearful name-droppers: Julia, Lucy, Martha (actually Paul McCartney’s dog), Michelle, Jude, Maxwell, Robert, Sally, Rita, Prudence and so on. What we (sort of) know is the plaintive ballad Julia from The White Album is about Lennon’s mother and Eleanor Rigby is an amalgamation of Eleanor Bron, who starred with The Beatles in the film Help! and half of the name of a store in Bristol, Rigby & Evens Ltd. Bob Dylan also shamelessly name-checked women, among them Corinna, Isis, Rosemary, Lily, Sarah, Hattie, Ramona, Maggie, Marie and Johanna.

It’s believed Visions of Johanna is for Johanna Gezina van Gogh, sister-in-law of Vincent van Gogh, and allegedly the sour It Ain’t Me, Babe was a parting gift to Joan Baez. But the most intriguing is Sara from Desire, a song to his first wife, Sara, who he had sung about in Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands. The painful and unambiguous lyrics plead for reconciliation: “I can still hear the sound of the Methodist bells/I had taken the cure and had just gotten through/staying up for days in the Chelsea Hotel writing Sad Eyed Lady Of The Lowlands for you.” Sometimes, however, the song just isn’t about you. Oasis’s Wonderwall, for instance, isn’t about Noel Gallagher’s former wife, Meg Mathews, as many believed. ‘The meaning of that song was taken away from me by the media who jumped on it,” revealed the bolshie Mancunian.

Derek Fisher Heroics Lift Lakers To Brink Of Title

Fisher hit a 25-foot three-point shot with 4.6 seconds left in regulation and then nailed a 27-footer with just over 30 seconds left in overtime to give the Lakers a 94-91 lead. Pau Gasol scored the remaining five points to seal the win. “On a championship run you’re going to have moments where you just make big plays, and tonight was one of them,” said Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, who scored 32 points. “The guys stepped up. That’s what the journey is about.

” The Lakers lead the best-of-seven series 3-1 and can wrap up their first title since 2002 with a victory on Sunday in Orlando. Bryant led the Lakers with 32 points but the 11-times All Star and 2008 Most Valuable Player was not at his best, hitting only 11 of 31 shots. Gasol and Trevor Ariza each added 16 for Los Angeles.

Uncle Buck. New Yorker story about Bronco Wine has wrong emphasis, Franzia says

Sacramento Bee Staff Photo – LEDE– Fred Franzia in his Bronco Wine Company vineyard in Herald, CA on Tuesday April 20, 2004. Franzia is responsible for the inexpensive ‘Charles Shaw’ wine that became affectionately called ‘Two Buck Chuck.’ He is usually somewhat reticent of the press, but held a press luncheon at the vineyard to discuss Bronco’s 30 years in the business. Sacramento Bee/ Randall Benton The article, by New Yorker staff writer Dana Goodyear, recounts how Bronco launched its Charles Shaw wines at $1.99 a bottle through Trader Joe’s stores.

That product, dubbed “Two Buck Chuck” soon after the 2002 debut, created a category at the lower end of the market. These are single-varietal wines in 1.75-liter bottles closed with corks, as opposed to the jug and box wines that had dominated this part of the industry.
